Vance, Harris top early 2028 White House race polling
Polling Picture
A New York Times/Siena survey places Vance first among Republicans and Harris first among Democrats. Vance leads Rubio by roughly ten points, while Harris has only a narrow advantage over Newsom.[15]
Different Surveys
A separate Focaldata/Financial Times poll found Harris at 30% among Democrats and Vance at 38% among Republicans, with Newsom and Rubio as their closest major rivals. The difference between the surveys shows how sensitive early rankings are to question wording, timing, and the group surveyed.[14][17]
Limits Of Polls
These figures measure hypothetical primary preferences, not general-election prospects. They also precede candidate announcements, debates, fundraising tests, and the 2026 midterm results that could alter perceptions of both parties.[14][15]
